EdgeQuota

AI USAGE, AT THE EDGE OF YOUR MAC

This guide covers current EdgeQuota builds, including TestFlight. Feature availability depends on the app and provider-client versions.

Your AI usage, at the edge of your screen

EdgeQuota is an independent Mac utility for viewing supported AI usage limits, reset times, and local coding-task activity. It does not provide an AI subscription or increase your provider's allowance.

What is supported?

ConnectionWhat EdgeQuota displaysImportant limits
OpenAI CodexUsage windows and reset times supplied for your Codex account; supported local task activityThis is Codex usage, not a meter for ordinary ChatGPT conversations. Available windows depend on the account and the data returned.
Claude CodeSupported account usage readings and local Code task activitySupports terminal Claude Code and local Code in Claude for Mac. Ordinary Chat, Cowork, cloud tasks, and remote SSH tasks are not supported.
DeepSeekAPI account balanceOptional connection. API balance is not a subscription usage allowance.

Claude quota integration requires a compatible, separately installed official Claude Code runtime and a supported Pro or Max account. Signing in to ordinary Claude Chat alone does not establish a supported local Code connection. Connection behavior and available fields can change with provider software versions.

Connect a service

  1. Open EdgeQuota Settings and choose the service you want to connect.
  2. Follow the connection flow. If macOS asks for file access, authorize only the folder or program identified by the prompt.
  3. Complete any sign-in required by that connection. Being signed in to a different app does not always authorize EdgeQuota's connection.
  4. For local activity-based readings, use a supported local coding session and check the latest-reading time in EdgeQuota.

EdgeQuota may receive task activity before it receives a fresh quota reading. A connected or active indicator is not a guarantee that every usage window has just updated.

A quota looks old, incomplete, or different

  1. Check the latest-reading time. A previous reading is historical information, not a live balance.
  2. Check the usage page for the same provider account. Provider-reported usage is the reference if the values differ.
  3. Confirm that the relevant connection is enabled and that the coding session is supported. For Claude, opening an ordinary Chat window is not enough.
  4. Use the connection's refresh or repair action if available. Some Claude updates run on the next supported local Code event rather than immediately after a click.
  5. If the issue continues, send support the app version, provider/client version, approximate time, and a redacted screenshot.

An unavailable window or a waiting-to-sync message does not mean that the account has unlimited usage or zero remaining usage. EdgeQuota displays the windows it receives; it should not be used to infer a missing limit. Provider client updates can affect compatibility and which fields are available.

Seven-day trial and one-time purchase

EdgeQuota offers an optional seven-day free trial. After the trial, continuing to use the paid features requires a separate, one-time lifetime unlock. The trial does not automatically become a paid purchase. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.

The trial starts from the original verified trial transaction. Reinstalling the app or restoring purchases does not start a new trial. When the trial ends, monitoring features pause; your saved settings and connections are retained.

The purchase price is shown by the App Store for your country or region before you confirm. The unlock is for EdgeQuota only. OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepSeek subscriptions, API charges, and usage allowances are separate.

Restore an existing purchase

Use Restore purchases in EdgeQuota Settings while using the Apple Account associated with the original purchase. Restoring checks an existing entitlement; it is not a second purchase. An expired trial remains expired after restoration.

If your purchase is not recognized, contact support before trying to purchase again. Do not email your Apple Account password or payment details.

The store says products are unavailable

Check your internet connection and App Store access, then use Retry in Settings. If products still do not load, the trial or purchase cannot be started yet. Repeatedly clicking purchase will not repair product availability.

Send support the exact message and whether you installed the app from the App Store or TestFlight. TestFlight store behavior can differ from the public release; an unavailable product is not proof that a payment failed or that you need to buy again.

Permissions and disconnecting

Local task detection uses the folders you authorize. You can disable a connection or revoke its local access in Settings. Quitting EdgeQuota stops its monitoring. Disconnecting EdgeQuota does not cancel an AI provider subscription or delete the provider account.

For DeepSeek, disconnecting stops synchronization and attempts to delete the stored key. If the app reports that deletion failed, retry it. To invalidate the key at the provider, revoke it in your DeepSeek account as well.
